altSTEVEN L. “Steve” MONTEMARANO SR. age 67 of Mount Morris, died suddenly Sunday December 19, 2021 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY. He was born the son of Vito and Shirley (Faatz) Montemarano on December 29, 1953 in Dansville, NY. He graduated from York Central School in 1973. He married Roe Leone on July 14, 1973. He was a Production Supervisor at American Rock Salt in Mount Morris and for Akzo for over 40 years. He worked for the Mount Morris DPW for 2 years until the new mine was open. He was a member of the Mount Morris Fire Department for over 46 years having served as its Chief from 1997-98 and 2003- 2004. He was also a member of the Livingston County Chiefs Association, Livingston County Volunteer Firemen’s Association and St. Patrick’s Church. He loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. He is survived by his loving wife of over nearly 50 years Roe, 2 children Steven L (Cassie) Montemarano Jr. of Lima and Amanda (Jeff) Coniglio of Mount Morris. 2 grandchildren Katie Montemarano of Lima and Brooklyn Coniglio of Mount Morris. 2 brothers Jay (Barb) Leone and Butch (Cheryl) Leone both of Mount Morris. alt JAMES R. “DICKIE” FRASER age 68 of Mount Morris, New York, died peacefully on Saturday May 8, 2021 at Asbolut Care in Houghton in Houghton, NY. He was born the son of James and June (LaBarbera) Fraser on October 16, 1952 in Dansville, NY. He worked at LaBarbera’s Electric Shop in Mt. Morris for several years. Dickie loved to fish, watch the birds and any other critter running by outside. If Dickie wasn’t home you would most likely find him at the local gas station playing scratch off tickets and talking with everyone as he was very well known in town. He was a long time member of the Living Stream Company of the Mount Morris Fire Department. Even after becoming paralyzed he still enjoyed talking with the guys and supporting them any way he could. He is survived by his 2 sons Richard (Sam) Fraser and Michael Fraser. 1 granddaughter Bella. Mother June Fraser, Sister Lorrie (Donald) Bryant. 3 nephews Tim (Kaylea) Bryant, Jason (Barbara) Bryant and RJ (Lisa) King. 6 Great nieces Morgan, McKinley, Mavery, Maddy and Lilyana Bryant and Audrey King. 2 Great-Great Nephews Dominic and Damien King. Is Companion/caretaker Sarah VanDume and her kids Victoria and Micah. Many dear and loving friends. He was predeceased by his father James in 1992 and Sister Judy King in 2011. alt RICARDO F. ESTRUCH JR. age 86 of Mount Morris, NY, died peacefully Sunday January 12, 2020 at his home. He was born the son of Ricardo and (Angelina) Estruch Sr. on April 15, 1933 in Cuylerville, NY. He served in the Army from 1953 to 1954 during the Korean War. He married Mary Sciarrino on June 25, 1955. Prior to his retirement in 1985 he was a Deputy Sheriff for the Livingston County Sheriff’s Department for 18 years. He was a member of St. Patrick’s Church, Living Stream Company of the Mount Morris Fire Department where he was a past Fire Chief, Mount Morris Ambulance and the Veterans for Foreign Wars. He loved the New York Yankees, Hunting, Fishing, bowling and tinkering with projects at his home. He is survived by his 3 children Mary Alice (Geary) Provo of Florida, Richard J. (Holly) Estruch of Avon and Janet Wilkerson of South Carolina. 5 Grandchildren Kelley (Anthony) Fantauzzo of Florida, Keith (Traci) Provo of Geneseo, Nicole (Vito) Mirra of Florida, Jaime (Michael) Hill of North Carolina and Jodi Wilkerson of NC. 7 Great Grandchildren Dominic, Giovanni and Juliana Provo, Ty & Mia Hill, Anthony Fantauzzo II and Nico Mirra. Siblings Theresa Gambino, Angelina Jacobs, Antoinette Pendergast, Sylvia (Howard) Hanna, Anthony (Shirley) Estruch, Julie Arena. Many nieces, nephews and dear and loving friends including Patti Diliberto of Leicester. He was predeceased by his wife Mary in 1993, Parents Ricardo Sr. and Angeline Estruch, sisters Frances Bianchi and Mary Passamonte and brothers James and Martin Estruch. alt VICENTE CRUZ “Joe” “Vince” SOTO age 78 of 5753 Upper Mt. Morris Road, Mount Morris, New York, died Sunday July 23, 2017 at the Palliative Care Unit at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY. He was born the son of Hilario Cruz Rodriguez and Eulalia Soto Monclova on July 19, 1939. He married Alice Buck on August 27, 1965. Prior to his retirement he was employed at Akzo Salt Mine in Retsof for over 18 years and having also worked at Foster Wheeler in Dansville for over 15 years. He attended the Village Baptist Church in Mount Morris, was a member of the Living Stream Hose Company of the Mount Morris Fire Department since 1995. Former member of Mt. Morris Lions Club. He loved working especially in his vegetable, fruit and flower gardens. He always looked forward to Monday and Tuesday night to watching the WWE. He is survived by his Children Leslie (Scott) Mosman, Terry (Lorri) Soto Sr. and Vincent Soto. Many Grandchildren and Great grandchildren. 8 Brothers & 4 Sisters. Many nieces, nephews and dear and loving friends. Predeceased by his wife Alice B. Soto on Jan. 15, 2013 and brother Steve Soto on July 17, 2017 and his parents Hilario Cruz Rodriguez and Eulalia Soto Monclova. alt RONALD V. CANUTI age 78 of Mount Morris, died Saturday March 19, 2016 in Wayland, NY. He was born the son of Val and Beulah (Hall) Canuti on September 19, 1937 in Nunda, NY. He was a veteran of the Army and the National Guard. He married Doris Smith on June 11, 1961. Prior to his retirement he work for 5 years at Lapp Industries in LeRoy and Industrial Ceramics (Pinco) in Lima for nearly 30 years. He was a 55 year member of the Mount Morris Fire Department having served in the Active Hose Company and currently of the Living Stream Company, He was Livingston County Firemen of the Year in 1993. He was a medic and driver for the Mt. Morris Ambulance for many years. He is survived by 3 children Darla Freeman of Mt. Morris, Randy and Stephen (Tammy) Canuti both of Dansville. 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. His sister Valerie (Barry Sanford) Canute of Dalton. Many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear and loving friends. He was predeceased by his wife Doris in 2004 and brother Robert in 2014. Friends may call Wednesday from 1-4 pm at the JOHN W. alt ARTHUR R. CROSTON JR. age 83 of 120 Murray Street, Mount Morris, NY, died Thursday January 8, 2015 at his home peacefully surrounded by his family. He was born the son of Arthur and Myrtle (Pratt) Croston on January 31, 1931 in Rochester, NY. He was a veteran of the Air Force during the Korean War. He married Ruth Donovan on January 3, 1952. Prior to his retirement in 1972 he was employed at the Mt. Morris Post office for over 25 years. He was also had worked at the Livingston County Sheriff Department as a Road Patrol Officer. He was a member of the Mount Morris Congregation of the Kingdom Hall, a charter and life member of the Mount Morris Disable American Veterans and a member of the Living Stream Hose Company of the Mount Morris Fire Department for over 55 years. He is survived by 5 children Daniel Croston of Warsaw, Carol (David) Thompson and Barbara (David) Galvin both of Leicester and James (Linda Shaver) and John Croston both of Mt. Morris. 4 Grandchildren Shannon, Jesse, Katie and Kelsey. Brother Robert (Gert) Croston of Rush. Sister Marion Krukowski of Fairport. Several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his loving Wife Ruth on Aug. 3, 2014. The family would like to thank the all of his caregivers including, Valorie, Kim, Johnna, Whitney, Susan, Mary Jane and also those from Livingston County Hospice. No prior calling.
